Someone reads your message and knows, without being able to explain why, that you didn't write it. It isn't the content: it's the rhythm, a word you never use. They'll never tell you, but from then on they reply differently. That's why how to automate your work as an IB isn't a question of tools. It's a question of where you draw the line.
Automatiza lo que se repite. Nunca lo que se sienteAutomate what repeats. Never what is felt
Hace bien tres cosas:Automating isn't the enemy: a business that doesn't systematize doesn't die of coldness, it dies of exhaustion. A bot doesn't sell, and it doesn't need to. It does three things well:
Answering instantly a question you've already answered a hundred times.
- Filtrar a quien todavía no sabe qué está buscando.Filtering out whoever still doesn't know what they're looking for.
Reminding you who you owe a message to today.
None of them touches the relationship. They're tasks, and tasks get delegated. The problem starts when what you delegate stops being a task and becomes a moment.
Los tres momentos que no salen de tus manosThe three moments that never leave your hands
In all three, the only thing being decided is whether they trust you:
The first sales conversation, because that's where trust is born and it isn't outsourced.
The day a client takes a loss, because your name has to show up there, not an assistant's.
The educational analysis that carries your signature, because if it goes out with your name, you answer for it.
The second one costs the most portfolios. An automatic reminder can tell you that client has been quiet for days; what comes after the alert is yours. I wrote about those days in why they deposit and withdraw.
Una plantilla no es el problema. Parecer una plantilla, síA template isn't the problem. Sounding like one is
Treinta segundos. Tu cliente no compara tu tiempo de respuesta. Compara si eras tú.The template is the skeleton, not the message. Before sending it, change two things: one sentence that only that person's situation explains, and the ending. Thirty seconds. Your client doesn't compare your response time. They compare whether it was you.
Por eso valeTrust is the only part of your business that doesn't scale. That's why it's worth something
Almost everything you have, any other IB has too: the same platform, the same conditions, the same materials. Even your content can be copied in an afternoon. The only thing nobody copies is what it feels like to talk to you, and that's why automating that part doesn't save you time: it spends the only thing that was yours.
Hazlo hoy con tus últimos diez mensajesDo it today with your last ten messages
Open them and mark how many a bot could have sent without anyone noticing. If more than five, pick one and rewrite it today in your own words, about their situation. One message. That tells you whether your system works for you or instead of you.
On the other half of this —getting the repetitive work out of your head before something falls through— I wrote here: Your business can't depend on your memory.
In IB ACADEMY, Stage 4 —Systemization— separates the two lists: what you turn into a process and what never leaves your hands. We work through your own messages and decide which side each belongs on.

I work with the IBs in our network so their community grows with a system, not with improvisation: attract, support, retain and organise a portfolio. Here I write about that work, with no income promises.
