Why I founded the first academy for IBs in Latin America

Umut Simsek·September 4, 2026·3 min read

My name is Umut Simsek. I'm an IB Manager at Weltrade for Latin America, and I built IB ACADEMY because for years I watched the same scene repeat itself: an IB with talent, a community, drive… and completely alone.

What I saw for years

A new IB gets three things from almost any broker:

  • A referral link.
  • A commission table.
  • A folder of banners.

And from there, he's on his own.

Nobody teaches him what really decides his business:

  • What to say to the first person who writes “is this a scam?”.
  • Why a client who deposited yesterday withdraws today.
  • How many conversations he needs to have every day for the business to hold up.

Those who grow, grow through expensive mistakes. The rest leave after three months convinced that “this wasn't for them”, when the only thing they lacked was a method.

The question that wouldn't leave me alone

As a manager, my job is to make the IBs in the network grow. And for a long time I did it the only way possible: one by one, over WhatsApp, repeating the same explanations to different people.

It worked, but it didn't scale. And it left me with a question: if the IB's job has rules —and it does—, why has nobody put them in order?

I looked. There are trading courses everywhere, and affiliate programs that explain how to get paid. But training on the IB's job —attracting, supporting, retaining, organizing a portfolio, building a team— in Spanish and for our region, I couldn't find. So I built it.

Why “academy” and not “course”

A course ends. An academy stays with you while you work.

IB ACADEMY is five stages, from your first client to your own company, and each one is applied the same day you read it. But the part I care about most isn't the content: it's the role play sessions, one on one, where I play the client and you practice what you've just learned before risking it with a real one.

Reading a script isn't knowing how to use it. I learned that watching IBs with perfect material go blank at the first objection.

What it isn't

  • It's not a trading course: nobody here teaches you to trade or gives you signals.
  • It's not an income promise: what you earn depends on your work, your consistency and the market.
  • It's not a product: there's nothing to buy, and no hidden “premium” tier.

It's free because my interest is aligned with yours. When your community grows with a system, your business wins, the broker wins and I win. I don't need to charge you for this to make sense.

Why it isn't open to just anyone

The full content isn't published. It's shared with the IBs in our network after a thirty-minute meeting, where we talk about your community, your numbers and what's holding you back.

It's not a sales filter; it's a commitment filter. This method only works if you do the daily work, and I'd rather spend my time on those who will.

Where I want to get to

I want being an IB in Latin America to stop being something you improvise and become something you learn. I want a new IB to have, from day one, what cost many people years and lost clients.

If that sounds like you, the door is the meeting.

Shall we talk?

Thirty minutes, no cost and no commitment. If it's a fit, you leave with access; if not, you leave with two or three concrete things to apply anyway.

I work with the IBs in our network so their community grows with a system, not with improvisation: attract, support, retain and organise a portfolio. Here I write about that work, with no income promises.
