Whoever tends the outside has followers. Whoever tends the inside has a community
Your trading community doesn't stop growing because of what you post. It stops growing because of what happens inside, after someone comes in. Almost all of a forex IB's effort goes outward: content, stories, ads. And how to retain clients as an IB isn't decided out there, it's decided by what the person who already came in experiences.
What the client who already came in experiences
When I look inside groups, I almost always find the same thing:
- They ask how to withdraw and you answer “write to support”.
- They get the same message as someone who has been there a year, because you don't know who started yesterday.
- Weeks go by without anything in the group having a date or a name.
None of them seems serious. That's why they repeat.
Retaining clients doesn't depend on your analysis
A client stays because someone knows them, helps them when they get stuck and gives them a reason to come back. None of that shows up in a chart and none of it gets delegated to a support channel.
And the one who stays is the one who tells the next person about you. That's how a community grows: not with more reach, but with fewer people leaving in silence. On why they leave in the very first days I wrote here: why they deposit and withdraw.
Do it today: look at who started this week
Open your list and mark the people who came in over the last seven days. Write to just one of them, by name, about something that applies only to them. One message. If you can't tell who started yesterday from who has been there a year, that's the first thing to fix.
And if the problem is that you don't remember where each one stands, memory won't fix it: Your business can't depend on your memory.
Retain and multiply: Stage 3 of the academy
In IB ACADEMY, Stage 3 works on the inside: which signals warn you someone is leaving, what to do in the first 24 hours and how to ask for an introduction without being awkward.

I work with the IBs in our network so their community grows with a system, not with improvisation: attract, support, retain and organise a portfolio. Here I write about that work, with no income promises.
